Thursday - Energy Healing

I'm feeling pretty tired tonight so I'll keep this short. Today was a good day. I woke up pain free (I've had terrible cramps the past 3 days).
Went to work and after work had an amazing Bio-Energy Healing treatment. I always feel so amazing and renewed afterward!
He really makes me think. We left off with some advice - try not to think of it as a diet but rather just make the decision to choose the healthier options. He also reminded me that you are what you eat, and to eat how the person (or body) that I want to be would eat.
I found a three day cleanse on the Tracy Anderson website that I'm thinking of starting on Monday. Or I should say - I found a three day cleanse that I am starting on Monday!

Three Day Valentine's Cleanse - Get Rid of Stubborn Fat!

Cleanse your body off of processed food! Lose weight and still eat!

Day 1:

Breakfast
1 sliced sweet potato sauteed in a frying pan (coated with Organic Olive Oil Spray) like mini pancakes. Enjoy with 2 tbs Maple Syrup

Lunch
1/2 cup cooked quinoa, Steamed asparagus and kale, with one hard-boiled egg. Chop all and mix in a bowl.

Snack
1 cup blueberries or 1 small apple

Dinner
Grilled Salmon with steamed broccoli

Day 2:

Breakfast
1 cup Kefir probiotic yogurt any flavor

Lunch
1 can white tuna with 1 tsp mustard chopped celery and chia seeds in an egg wrap. An egg wrap is to be made in an omelet pan like a super thin omelet. Spread the tuna mixture inside and roll up. May cut like a sushi roll.

Snack
1 small green apple

Dinner
Steamed artichoke with 5 grilled shrimp

Day 3:

Breakfast
2 poached eggs

Lunch
1 pounded plain grilled chicken breast
side salad chopped papaya, small avocado, cilantro, lime juice, shallot, chopped arugula

Dinner
2 slices grilled tofu, chopped arugula, cherry tomatoes, red chard, 1/2 mango and white rice vinegar

Dessert
2 scoops sorbet

Drink plenty of water and only green tea. Have as many of the veggies that you want that are on the menu!

Night night :)

Tiny set back but back at it!

Well as predicted, we went to a friends on Saturday evening, drank to much wine, ate too much food and stayed up talking way to late. the next morning when the alarm went off telling me to get up for my running clinic, I just couldn't pull myself out of the comfy down blankets, with the boy and the, pups, not to mention my headache!

Then Monday I had a meeting with a holistic nutritionist, I had to write down everything I ate and drank over a five day period and give it to her (how embarrassing)! She is analyzing it along with the forms I filled out and is going to get back to me with my punishment, I'm assuming it will be some sort of cleanse or detox Yikes!

Tonight I had my running clinic, we ran 5k with 10 mins running 1 minute walking the whole way, it hurt but feels great to have done it, I always feel so refreshed and clear headed after!

When I got home the boy had dinner all ready for me, I may have eaten a little to much pasta but who could say no to a yummy home cooked dinner?!

Till next time!

change starts now!

Well here goes, I've decided to keep track of my progress with a blog. Partially hoping that I will be held accountable not only to myself but to anyone else who decides to read this.
I've taken to calling myself a sloth the past few months...who am I kidding the past 2 years!

Well change starts now!

Here's how I'm starting the change
-I've joined a 10k running clinic with a friend
-I have my first appointment with a holistic nutritionist on Monday
-I've started a diet diary
-I am making healthier choices

If anyone has any tips or encouragement I'd love to hear it!

2 years ago I ran a 10k in 58 minutes, this was apparently a good time for a first time runner. Well after I crossed the finish line I didn't run again until last Wednesday (my first night of the running clinic)
why you ask? well I'm not really sure, laziness I guess?
Now I've got about 20 lbs to lose, not a lot compared to some people, but definitely the most extra weight I've ever carried!
Time to shape up, I'm turning 30 in two weeks and and to run a 1/2 marathon before the end of the year.
So goals are:
lose the 20 lbs
run the 10k in under 58 mins
do a 1/2 marathon before the end of the year.

Short term goal, don't drink to much wine tonight that you can't get up for the 9am Sunday morning run clinic, ouch.
